A significant collaboration meeting was held as part of the preparations for the 3rd International Communication Days Symposium, “From Alphabet to Algorithm: New Horizons in Global Communication,” organized by the Faculty of Communication at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University.
The meeting, held on March 12, 2026, at the BAİBÜ School of Foreign Languages, addressed collaboration opportunities to strengthen the international character of the symposium, increasing international academic participation, and joint academic production processes.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the School of Foreign Languages, Prof. Dr. Mesut Kuleli; the Deputy Director, Lecturer Dr. Ayşegül Övdür Altundal; the Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Head of the Symposium Organizing Committee, Prof. Dr. Emre Tandırlı; the Deputy Dean, Assoc. Dr. Gülşah Sarı; and the Head of the Symposium Organizing Committee, Ayten Bekar.
Joint Roadmap for International Participation
The meeting discussed the active participation of international academics working within the School of Foreign Languages in the symposium according to their areas of expertise, as well as the invitation of international speakers and researchers through academic networks in different countries.
Participants stated that they aim for the symposium to create a strong academic interaction platform not only in the field of communication but also in interdisciplinary fields such as language, culture, artificial intelligence, media, and digital communication.
Academic Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Contributions
The meeting also discussed in detail the academic collaborations to be developed between the BAİBÜ Faculty of Communication and the BAİBÜ School of Foreign Languages during the symposium process. In this context, the following topics were emphasized:
The active participation of international faculty members in panels, sessions, and workshops;
The contribution of academic expertise in the field of foreign languages to the global communication perspective of the symposium;
Strengthening linguistic and academic coordination for international participants;
Encouraging interdisciplinary collaborative work. The meeting also comprehensively discussed potential academic collaborations between the Faculty of Communication and the School of Foreign Languages, which organized the symposium. In this context, it was stated that joint working mechanisms to be established between the two units in areas such as academic content production, expanding international communication networks, and event coordination would significantly contribute to the symposium. The assessments emphasized that this collaboration would not only strengthen the international character of the symposium but also create a broader scientific interaction platform bringing together academics from different disciplines, thus contributing significantly to achieving lasting academic gains at the institutional level.
