BAİBÜİLEF-İG 2024 Focused on New Media on the 2nd Day of Lawyers' Perspective on "Digital Hegemony"!

Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Faculty of Communication hosted an important event that will take the pulse of the communication world. The event organized under the title of "1st International Communication Days: Digital Transformation and New Media Symposium" informed the participants by addressing the innovations and changes in the sector.
On the second day of the symposium, the session titled Digital Hegemony was moderated by Dr. Lecturer Özgür Başyiğit. PhD student Emrah Sıran Kara, who was among the participants, analyzed the role of digital hegemony in international relations in detail. Kara examined the impact of digital hegemony, information and communication technologies on global politics, economy and culture. He also emphasized the importance of digital hegemony in international relations and provided an in-depth perspective to the participants with his presentation supported by examples.
Among the other speakers of the symposium, Tolga Tellan addressed the new dynamics of international relations in the digital age. Tellan conveyed the role of digital media in international relations and the impact of digital hegemony on international politics to the participants. He also drew the attention of the participants by discussing the effects of digital algorithms and artificial intelligence on international relations.
Another speaker of the symposium, Attorney Orçun Oltulu, examined the place of military autonomous weapons within the framework of international law of armed conflict. Oltulu shared with the participants the limits of autonomous weapons systems within the framework of international law and moral principles and the ethical and legal dimensions of these technologies.
In the Q&A section, the participants contributed to the event by asking various questions to the speakers. Then, the event was successfully completed by presenting certificates to the participants.
The symposium provided the participants with an important perspective on the future of the communication world and the importance of digital transformation.
