Prof. Dr. Süleyman İRVAN Üsküdar University TÜRKİYE

Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University School of Press and Broadcasting, his postgraduate degree at the University of West Florida in the USA, and his doctorate in journalism at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences. İrvan worked as an assistant professor at Gazi University Faculty of Communication between 1999-2002, and as an associate professor at Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Communication between 2002-2007. He transferred to Akdeniz University Faculty of Communication in 2007. Süleyman İrvan, who received the title of professor in 2008, was appointed dean of the Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Communication in 2010 and served for 5 years. Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan started the reader representative institution, the first in all of Cyprus, in 2012. İrvan, who was the first reader representative of Yenidüzen newspaper, made the newspaper a member of the International Organization of Reader Representatives (ONO). Having left his post as reader representative in 2014, Süleyman İrvan was elected as one of the two representatives of Communication Faculties to the Media Ethics Board established in the TRNC in 2013 and assumed the presidency of the Media Ethics Board. İrvan, who left the Media Ethics Board in 2015, was elected to the Communication Education Evaluation Accreditation Board (İLEDAK) in 2017 and continued in this post until 2019. Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan started working at Üsküdar University, Faculty of Communication in February 2017. Having served as the Head of the Department of Journalism between 2017 and 2023 and as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Communication between April 1, 2023 and January 10, 2024, Prof. Dr. İrvan was appointed Advisor to the Rector on January 12, 2024.
