1. Res. Asst. Azimenur AYAZ “Examination of the Relationship between Social Likeability and Appearance-Related Social Media Awareness According to the Filter Usage Rate on Instagram” It has been stated that the desire to be liked among individuals increases day by day with the use of social media and that individuals give more importance to their appearance. In this direction, it is stated that individuals use filters on social media in order to show themselves better and to be liked more.
2. Şirin ELDENER (Master's Student) “Disinformation in the Digital Era: Fake News in the Covid-19 Pandemic”
The negative consequences of disinformation were explained. It was stated that disinformation meant the tendency to spread false information, and that this method caused negative effects on society in economic, health, democratic and financial aspects, and that it was necessary to combat disinformation. Within the framework of this information, disinformation news and publications made during the pandemic period were mentioned and information was provided on how to prevent them. It was stated that digital literacy was important as a precaution to be taken to reduce disinformation.
3. Asena KURTULDU (Master's Student) “Effective Social Media Management: Instagram Social Media Platform”
In the research conducted on the effective use of social media, it was aimed to determine the follower relationship in Instagram use. In this context, the researcher opened two Instagram accounts and examined the user-follower relationship.
4. Dr. Burak İLİ “ Understanding The Role Of Social Media in Hate Speech: A Quantitative Content Analysis On Ekşi Sözlük ”
In the research where hate speech on social media was examined, he made recommendations for combating hate speech and preventing hate speech, especially in the research where he applied quantitative content analysis on hate speech about Syrian refugees.
5. Burak ALTUNCI (Master's Student) “ Artificial Iceberg ”
In the research where he looked at the positive aspects as well as the negative aspects of the internet and artificial intelligence, he compared artificial intelligence to an artificial iceberg and focused on the negative aspects of artificial intelligence. It was stated that artificial intelligence distances individuals from reality and triggers alienation.
6. Dr. Ezgi SAATÇIOĞLU “ Social Media Use in Destination Branding: Go Turkey Example ”
In the research where the effect of the concept of destination on branding was determined, the feature of the concept of destination was emphasized and the GOTurkiye account was examined on Instagram with this concept. Here, the researcher who conducted content analysis created a coding table and investigated the relationship between brand image and destination.
7. Dr. Lecturer Zeliha Canan ÖZKAN, Enise Erva SAYIK “Digital Transformation: Changing Social Media Trends Through New Media”
It was stated that digital transformation is faster with new media tools and what the social media trends are. It was stated that the importance of social media literacy was mentioned and that increasing social media literacy would allow for better understanding of the messages in social media advertisements.
8. Dr. Lecturer Ayşe Betül TANRIVERDİ (14:00-14:30) “Causes of Media Disinformation and the Importance of Media Literacy”
It was stated that the purpose of disinformation is to manipulate and that disinformation is done for the purpose of spreading fake news. It was stated that this behavior provoked the public and that social media increased disinformation. He stated that the public is provoked to hatred and violence with negative messages.
9. Lecturer Dr. Esma SANCAR, Semih SANCAR (PhD Student) “Examination of the Relationship Between the Digital Literacy Levels of Employees and Their Attitudes Towards Digital Transformation: An Application on the Media Industry”
He emphasized the importance of the development of the digital culture of employees in the organization and stated that despite this importance, digital transformation projects have failed in many areas in the past. In this direction, he stated that by developing digital literacy, employees can be prevented from being prejudiced against digital transformation projects. He stated that digital literacy is the correct interpretation of information and the correct positioning of the correct information. In this context, he referred to Cemil Meriç's words, “A person must read, understand and know, and he becomes the enemy of what he does not know the most” and stated that digital literacy is a skill that must be learned by employees and individuals.
10. Res. Asst. Esra ÖZGÜR, Res. Asst. Dr. Nilüfer Pınar KILIÇ (15:30-16:00) “Artificial Intelligence Bias: Turkey’s Example in Generative Artificial Intelligence”
Speaking about the high level of development of artificial intelligence, the researcher emphasized that it has developed and will develop more and more each passing day. The researcher, who claims that artificial intelligence imitates human intelligence, stated that societies can develop by making many developments in the fields of culture, art, economy, health and politics with generative artificial intelligence. He states that advanced products that can meet customer needs can be developed with artificial intelligence by developing final products with algorithms. The researcher, who stated that algorithm literacy should be developed in individuals on this subject, stated that correct information can be obtained in terms of data mining by developing algorithm literacy in individuals in the field of science.
